SUMMARY : We don't know who he is or where he comes from. Dressed in a white jumpsuit, he travels the country roads on his motorcycle. Fate leads him to a village in rural France, recently marked by the death of a child, mown down by a motorcycle. Very quickly, the stranger feels the indifference, then the contempt, and soon the hatred of these villagers confined by their prejudices. Only Madeleine, a single mother, agrees to help him. But all the men in the village, right up to the mayor, have found the stranger as their scapegoat.

ABOUT THE FILM : In the same vein as Hunting Scenes in Bavaria (1969), Haine is a reflection on intolerance, xenophobia, and human stupidity, carried by Klaus Kinski at the height of his powers. Alongside him, we find familiar faces from French cinema of the 1970s and 1980s, including Maria Schneider (Last Tango in Paris), Évelyne Bouix (René la canne), and Katia Tchenko (Les Charnelles). An atypical work, a Christ-like allegory, Haine is presented in its world premiere in a fully restored version, on DVD and Blu-ray.
