ABOUT THE FILMS : Like killer sharks and invasive spiders, the wave of man-eating lizards took off in cinema during the 1970s, notably with Tobe Hooper's The Crocodile of Death (1976).
After other "classics" of the genre, including Alligator (Sergio Martino, 1979) and The Incredible Alligator (Lewis Teague, 1980), many other works of the same ilk have emerged over the years, including the diptych Killer Crocodile.
Killer Crocodile 1 and 2 take place in the Caribbean. A crooked industrialist, then a real estate developer, are at the heart of an ecological scandal, involving toxic drums that pose a threat to the population and the environment. A group of environmentalists, then an intrepid journalist, take turns investigating to flush out a very dangerous giant crocodile and arrest those responsible.

Finally, let us note that the musical score for both films is by the famous Riz Ortolani (The Long Night of Exorcism, Cannibal Holocaust), who is inspired here by the famous theme from Jaws (Steven Spielberg) composed by John Williams.
