SUMMARY : In the 1970s, in the suburbs of Paris, when they're not spending time riding motorcycles in vacant lots, a gang of young losers led by Ben terrorizes the neighborhoods. Their abuses regularly provoke conflicts with the locals, particularly with Tramoneur, the owner of the café serving as the thugs' headquarters. Until the day the inevitable happens: following a brawl, Ben's brother Dédé is shot dead by Tramoneur. Ben then swears to avenge him... whatever the consequences!
ABOUT THE FILM : Following on from landmark works such as Les Cœurs verts (Édouard Luntz, 1966) and La Rage au poing (Eric Le Hung, 1973), Les Loulous evokes the malaise of an idle youth, without prospects for the future and rejected by society, expressing their despair through violence. Patrick Cabouat's first feature film, Les Loulous was screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 1976. This social drama stars, among others, Valérie Mairesse (Banzaï, Les Frères Pétard) and Hélène Surgère, a regular actress of director Paul Vecchiali, also seen in Barocco and Salò or the 120 Days of Sodom.
