SUMMARY : Hélène Gallois experiences a period of depression following her divorce. During her stay in a specialized clinic, she meets Édouard Fournier, a painter struggling with alcoholism. A friendship blossoms between them, and they decide to stay at a farm owned by Édouard. However, the oppressive atmosphere of the place revives their past traumas, confronting them with their own inner demons.
ABOUT THE FILM : Directed in 1980 by Jean-Étienne Siry, the legendary director of the short film Poing de force (1976), A Snail in the Head is his only so-called classic film. Although it did not achieve great commercial success upon its release and remains little known to the general public, this film is nevertheless appreciated by fans of 1980s French cinema for its introspective approach to the themes of depression and redemption.
