SUMMARY : In the suburbs of Montreal, 1970s – Normande St-Onge, a pharmacy employee, lives in a large family home, which she shares with outcasts. The young woman is concerned about the fate of her mother, locked up in a psychiatric hospital. Normande tries by all means to get her out, but is met with refusal by doctors and her lawyer uncle. Then Normande comes up with the crazy idea of removing her from the asylum and bringing her home .
ABOUT THE FILM : After Death of a Lumberjack, The Head of Normande St-Onge is the second collaboration between director Gilles Carle and actress Carole Laure . They would go on to make seven films together, including The Angel and the Woman. The Head of Normande St-Onge expresses the difficulties of being marginalized and trying to integrate into a standardized, codified society. It should be noted that the music was composed by Lewis Furey (Fantastica). The film is offered here in its full version.
