SUMMARY : Marseille – Following a dispute, Tony Véronèse, a notorious criminal, blows up the nightclubs and brothels owned by the Pérez brothers in retaliation. These spectacular attacks lead Commissioner Joinville to make a pact with two respected figures in the underworld. But, while the police officer hopes for a tacit agreement between the two clans, the settling of scores continues in a bloodbath.
ABOUT THE FILM : Loosely based on a true story (the Saint Gérard's Day massacre) that took place in October 1978 in a Marseille café, Le Bar du téléphone is a thriller in the purest tradition of the genre. This realistic portrait of crime boasts a "loud-mouthed" cast, with the experienced François Périer (Le Samouraï) and Raymond Pellegrin (La Part des lions) on the one hand, and the new generation represented by Daniel Duval (La Dérobade) and Christophe Lambert (Greystoke) on the other.
BONUS : • The Duval bar with Fabienne Vette (29 mins) • Period interview with Daniel Duval (3 mins) • Archival footage from the filming of the film (2 mins) • Archive footage of the film’s eventful release (1 min 40 sec)
